Soldiering on
While Nicky began the week on the road to recovery and returned to work on Tuesday, I was still on the down hill side hitting the trough on Tuesday. I felt bad enough late Monday to postpone the work I had booked for Tuesday. I was very pleased that I had done so when I did do the job on Wednesday as it turned out to be more complicated than I had hoped. Still, we have both improved during the week and are approaching our more normal levels of health and well-being.
Nicky had her regular eye clinic appointment on Monday, and has had a relatively quiet week at work. I have had more work on this week which has been good, just a bit of an unfortunate coincidence that this should happen while I’m under the weather. I didn’t linger for the socialising after my Deep & Meaningful meeting this week as I still felt in need of an early night in bed.
The weather has been largely sunshine and showers, but during the dryer periods there seems to be a hint of spring. This looks set to change this week with a southerly on it’s way up the country. Laundry and shopping have continued un-abated.
Nicky had yesterday off so that she could attend BHB Quilters, and afterwards she rattled the Scrabble tiles with Steve and Stella in Henderson. Today we popped up to Massy University (Albany Campus) to deliver Shani’s 21st birthday quillo which Nicky finished yesterday. Nicky has really enjoyed doing it and Shani is very pleased with it (picture below). In the other picture is the building where we had tea and coffee with Shani which wasn’t there when Claire was a student, and I realised that it must be over 6 years since I was last on campus. No wonder I got a little lost on the way there!
Take care, Rick.
