Stormy weather
Apart from the weather, we have had a routine week. The library has had some very busy periods with the schools still being on holiday, but also some quieter spells when the weather has been very wet. I have again been busy most days with work which has been good. Neither of us have had any evenings out, so we have finished seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Masters of Sex.
The end of the week has been very stormy and wet, with parts of the country having some major flooding. Various places have had a state of emergency declared, including Dunedin, but Claire and Ryan have been OK largely due to living up a hill. The rain has, of course, impeded my outdoor laundry activities, so I’ve been doing small loads to dry inside.
We have also had a quiet weekend, which has been really good. I had to do a bit of work locally yesterday but we had a good and leisurely breakfast beforehand. The weather was quite wet so we drove to the museum to see the World Wildlife Photography exhibition. It was very good and very busy. Stella and Steve came round for Scrabble in the afternoon. It was good to see Stella out and about again - her wrist is really improving.
Today has been dryer so while Nicky was at church I went for a walk at Karekare. It seems quite awhile since I last visited. After lunch we went over to Onehunga to find the start of the Coat-to-Coast walk and to have a stroll along the shore front. We fancy doing both the 16km Coast-to-Coast and 10km Waikowhai Walkway (which connects Lynnfield Cove to the Onehunga shore front) at some point in the future.
Nicky is sewing at the moment and I think we might have an early night as we are both feeling a little jaded.
Take care, Rick
