A book shared has two bookmarks!

Spring is making its presence felt, with warmer days, torrential rain every so often, and some very strong winds. Even so, overall the weather has been pretty good with some good periods of sun.

Work has been busy for me this week, by recent standards, which has been good. Claire popped over on Friday to deliver their old bread maker and have a quick massage before going off to work. I participated in the church Men's Group 8-ball competition on Friday night. I still prefer snooker to pool, but it was quite a good evening, and I even potted a few balls! I bought some 00 flour while shopping on Thursday and used it to make some pasta on Friday for a veggie cannelloni. 00 flour, as you may already know dear reader, is finer than standard flour, and it did seem to have a beneficial effect on the pasta. In with all this I still managed to a number of loads of washing this week, got it ironed, and emptied the airing cupboard, so from a laundry perspective, all is well with the world.

Nicky has had a busy and stressful week at work. She has a number of displays to organise over the next few months, so got started reserving the books for them so that they would arrive in time. Unexpectedly, they all started arriving this week and her desk is now piled high with more books than sticks can be shaken at. On Friday she went to a meeting where the senior management are discussing the changes they are making, and Nicky made comments that she later felt she made too harshly, so has had a very difficult weekend worrying about the ramifications.

Yesterday (Saturday) I did the last of my Mac jobs for the week, and Nicky went off to the Doctor to get all her prescriptions renewed. She Scrabbled in the afternoon while sharing "Sunshine over Scotland Street" with me - we are taking turns at reading it.

We have had a quiet day today, and enjoyed a walk round the reserve in the afternoon sun, and the wind got the last of the washing dry for us.

That's all for now,
Rick
