10-10-10
I suppose today must be special in some way as it is 10-10-10, but I don't think it has any magical properties.
It has been a quiet and routine week, especially on the work front. Nicky has been busy though it has not been such a hectic week due to the school holidays. She has had a couple of training sessions in Henderson which have added a little variety. Claire has completed he final assignment for this semester. She has a test next week during her final week of lectures, and then three exams finishing in early November. I have had some Mac work too, so it has not been a bad week.
On Wednesday evening Nicky and Claire walked round to the Community Centre to see Shani in a school holiday production. Other family members have seen it too at other times (the Moss-Masons on Saturday - they called into see us after the show).
Our biggest news this week has been the local election, for a Mayor for the new "supercity" and all the Council and Board seats. All the voting has been postal, and the results were announced on Saturday. The new "SuperMayor" as he has been dubbed, is Len Brown with a good majority. The supercity administration takes over the running of Auckland on November 1st.
We have had a quiet weekend, just pottering round the house. Steve and Ros came round for Scrabble on Saturday afternoon. We had stroll over to and around Margaret Griffin Park in Lynfield this afternoon - very pleasant.
Weather has improved this week. More sunshine, less rain, slightly higher temperatures. Summer must be on the way.
Bye for now,
Rick
