November 15th

Claire has finished her first year at University this week. She sat her last exam on Monday, which went well, and the semester officially finished on Wednesday. So, she is now practising lying-in, except on the days where she has to be at Whitcoulls in the morning. Last night she went out for a drink with some of her fellow students, and caught some of the football fever. NZ were playing Bahrain for a place in the World Cup Finals next year. NZed's 1-0 victory got them a place for the first time in 27 years, so some of the folks here are very excited.

Nicky had a day off work as she has come down with a cold (which I now have too!) which has exacerbated her sinusitis even more. Other than that, work for her has been much as usual. She is on holiday now for two weeks, as is Claire, which she is relieved about. We are planing some day trips like last year, and just having some time together.

The beginning of the week was busy for me with work which was good. I have had a phone call from college informing my that my certificate is now ready for collection, so I am now a qualified massage therapist. I have spent the last few days getting some things ready for Claire's 21st birthday celebration. I have put a quiz together and some photos, illustrating the last 21 years. We are having a chicken and chocolate themed party for her, and hoping for good weather.

Nicky spent much of yesterday going out and about, delivering a cake and birthday cards and getting her hair cut. Today she has been into town with Claire to see a graduation exhibition which includes the work done by one of Claire's friends who was studying costume design.

The weather has been cool and wet at times this week, though one day was gorgeous, Wednesday I think. Ah well, that's all for now.
