Blossom

The end of our week has been quiet. A combination of Nicky having a respiratory bug and poor weather has kept us at home inside. We have occupied ourselves with a a jigsaw and listening to some more Harry Potter.

The beginning of our week was much busier. Nicky had a full Monday with church cleaning and a Pastoral Care meeting with Louise. In the afternoon we had afternoon tea with a fellow book club member, Libby, and her husband Graham at their home on St. John’s Hill. While Nicky was out during the morning I did some MacOnSite work and had an amble. After lunch I did the trenching and cleaned the cook top. We watched a bit of telly after dinner but Nicky was in need of an early night.

Tuesday was a pleasant day so laundry was done, and the supermarkets were raided. In the afternoon Nicky hosted a church home group. Before dinner she went to a Service of Lament for abuse. Then we watched a little more telly after dinner and Nicky had another early night.

I cut the berm on Wednesday and Nicky did her months hospital visiting. At the evening quiz we came 11th with 85 points. Nicky staffed the Aramoho Library on Thursday. I did some laundry before the rain started, but Nicky was starting to feel unwell by the evening.

Ros called in late on Friday afternoon before her evening Andrew London concert. She bought us fish and chips for dinner which we all enjoyed. Nicky and I watched a film in the evening, The Mystery of Henri Pick, a French film about a literary mystery which we both enjoyed.

Ros called in on Saturday morning for a chat before continuing her journey south, and again today while driving north to New Plymouth. As usual, her visits included her kindly bringing us a huge range of goodies.

This morning I removed all our power extension boards apart from one, after seeing an item on the news about a house fire last night. Not using extension boards was one of my motivations for having lots of power sockets installed when we were building our home, but accessing some of them has been difficult with our current shelving.

I took my phone with me today on my amble (which I don’t usually do) to photograph some of the blossom. It has passed it’s best, but here you go:

Take care, Rick and Nicky
