We moved to Covid Lockdown Level 2 at midnight on Tuesday, along with the rest of the country except for Auckland, who are still at Level 4. This seems to have spurred some of my Auckland MacOnSite customers into getting round to doing things for which they haven’t previously had time, and I have ended up having my busiest week of the year.

The move to Level 2 here enabled mask-wearing, physically-distanced shopping in Mitre 10, so I was able to go and buy some more wood for filling in the gaps under the fence. It was delivered on Friday, I painted three of the planks yesterday, and fitted some today getting almost two fence panels-worth completed. It also enable non-emergency medical services to get up and running again, so Nicky had a series of phone calls resulting in a visit to the opticians, the dental hygienist, Hospital Radiology Department for an X-ray of her hip/leg (there was nothing there apparently!) and a blood test at Med Lab.

The weather has enabled the washing to be dried outside most of the time. Nicky has spent some time in the garden, but rain and some strong winds have been regular features of the week.

We have put our Apple TV to proper use for the first time this week by watching Season Two of Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials”. In other words, The Subtle Knife. Like the first season, it was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We then tried out Bridgerton on Netflix but were not impressed, but there were a few other offerings which I put on our watch list.

We have reached the end of the week with no new photos, so here is one from last week for your enjoyment.

Take care, Rick
