Coronation
Much of the weather this week has been mild and damp. The temperatures have been 5-8º higher than normal at this time of year, and the humidity has been higher too.
Nicky’s working week began with brass cleaning at church. She has also had her regular commitments of Life Group and staffing the Community Library. On Wednesday she made two visits to the dentist to have the first two of her four crowns fitted. This went well but she felt sore in the evening while we quizzed and came 5th. A Friday morning visit to the medical centre for a review of her Polymyalgia medication was followed by laundry.
My week has been one of just three sailings, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. With my time off I have been cleaning (filters, cook top, car, shower glass) and relaxing. The damp and wet weather hasn’t induced me outside. I did attend a workshop on the planned developments for a couple of blocks of Guyton Street in town, which was interesting.
We both enjoyed the community kai at the marae on Thursday, and catching up with a couple of TV drama series which we had recorded.
As Friday evening arrived, the build-up to the Coronation began. We got live coverage from Saturday evening onwards which Nicky watched in its entirety. I watched some parts while having some sleep too. We were very pleased to watch the BBC coverage, and I felt very proud of being British. I made coronation chicken for the crew lunch on the boat today, which was enjoyed by all.
The weather has produced some lovely light this week, and I managed to get this photo of the trees in the back garden on Monday:
Take care, Rick and Nicky.
