Car at The Spa

It has been a wintery week with cold, wet weather (some of the rain very heavy), but there has been the odd patch of sun now and then.

We started the week with Luna, our lovely Suzuki Swift, up at the garage for her annual spa day (service and warrant). Minor adjustment to her fog lights was all she needed for her warrant.

Nicky has been fully occupied at the library again, and had a few evenings out with prayer groups and getting her hair done. On Friday morning she went down to New Lynn library for a leaving do, so we met up afterwards and had some soup for lunch together which was good.

I have had a quieter week than last week with work, but have done a couple of decent jobs. I was out at Deep and Meaningful one night, and have also spent some of my birthday money on a couple of micro-fibre tops from MacPac which I am pleased with. I have enjoyed watching a three part documentary on DVD called Precision - the measure of all things, about the seven basic units of measurement that we use, and how they came about. Very interesting, entertaining and informative.

We went do to Lynnmall yesterday with the intention of seeing the new Jason Bourne film, but couldn’t get suitable tickets, so did even more shopping than we had planned to, but it was successful - lots of items ticked off the Christmas list. Later Nicky went over to Henderson to do a little more shopping, and play Scrabble with Stella.

While Nicky was at church this morning I did the ironing as the weather wasn’t suitable for going out to the beach. On her return we went down to the mall again for the 11.01 commencement of sale of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Much to Nikcy’s disappointment Whitcoull’s had done nothing special in terms of a display, so without buying a copy she wasn’t even able to look at it (we have one on order from the Book Depository). She has been over to Henderson again for Scrabble, this time with Stella and Steve.

We have also started watching Home Fires on DVD, an ITV series set at the beginning of WW2 in a Cheshire village, and are quite taken with it. This evening will be soup and tellybox and keeping warm.

Take care, Rick
