300 and counting...

Congratulations dear reader for making it this far!  This is the 300th post, and if you joined this adventure near the beginning you have done very well to hang on this long. How far there is to go now I have no idea, but if palmistry is to be believed, it's a long way yet.

To mark this auspicious occasion, I can inform you that this week I have received a letter from Internal Affairs (which fortunately has nothing to with digestion) granting me New Zealand citizenship. Once I have been to an appropriate ceremony and been given my certificate, I can then apply for a NZ passport. I think this is the extent of the exiting news this week.

Nicky has been busy at work, especially with the diwali celebrations. She worked some extra hours on Friday evening and Saturday morning with special events. We had another trip to Dillworth Hearing in Epsom on Monday for another adjustment to her hearing aids.

On Tuesday Nicky and Claire had lunch together in the mall, then I collected Claire to run her home and pinch some of her coffee. She is now working at Whitcoulls full-time (ie 5 days a week) in the run up to Christmas.

I have not had so much Mac work this week, but did do a long job on Wednesday installing a new network switch and doing much recabling. It all went OK in the end.

Most of the week has been sunny with a cool breeze, so I got most of the laundry out of the way before the weekend. Nicky and I enjoyed a leisurely walk round the BHB reserve in the sun yesterday, and we have had visitors for morning tea today, and Scrabbled and Trivial Pursuited as it has been cooler and cloudy, with rain starting this evening.

Charles and Camilla arrived today (not at our house, just in Auckland), but we have only seen them on the news.

That's all for now,
Take care, Rick
