WWDC week

We started this week with a day off, courtesy of the Queen's Birthday. In celebration Nicky and I had a very lazy day, which included breakfast in bed and a very late lunch. We made some progress on the Wallace and Gromit jigsaw but didn't actually finish it until Friday night. The black edges and perforations turned out not to be as bad as I expected as the jigsaw is well cut and the pieces have distinctive shapes The finished item was just brilliant:

Nicky has had another 5 day week at work which we are very pleased about. Claire is on study leave and has been preparing for her exams next week. I have only had one Mac job but I have done two modelling sessions - one on Monday night in Helensville for the Art Club there which was good, and then Tuesday night at Western Springs College which I have done a number of times before and is always enjoyable if a little strenuous. Watching Apple's webcast of the Lion - iOS5 - iCloud announcements at the WWDC and reading articles discussing the many implications has taken some of my time this week, along with considering the implications for how I run my own technology. I am not going to make any changes at the moment but wait until Lion ships.

Nicky was at Life Group on Wednesday evening and Claire was working Thursday evening so the only evening we have had together was Friday, so we watched a Morse DVD which Ros has loaned us.

Friday was very wet and yesterday wasn't much better so we stayed home and dried the laundry inside. I finished watching the Monty Python 3-disk set DVD which Claire and Ryan gave me for my birthday, and Nicky has finished reading a couple of who-dunits over the weekend, as we have had a quiet day today too. The sun has been out again today which has been most welcome but the ground is very wet. Stella popped in to deliver my birthday card so we had a chat for a few minutes while Nicky was making some tea bread for our tea, surprisingly enough.

So there you have it, yet another exciting antipodean week!
Take care,

Rick
